The earth looks so different from ten thousand feet up. Everything that used to look so big looks smaller. Seeing the world from above really helps with perspective. Looking above the clouds, it’s almost like looking at the whole world from a new angle. Up here, all of my problems just seem smaller.
I see the sun dipping under the horizon, leaving behind a bleeding trail of color and light in it’s wake (woah. I need to read less poetry 😂). You know, sunsets used to make me sad. They’d remind me that a day had just passed. One day was nearly over, fully spent. Most days, I’d see a sunset and think about all of the things I should’ve done that day, all of the mistakes I made, all of the moments I would never get back. Have you ever felt like you wasted a day? I felt that for a long time. But, my perspective has changed. I look at sunsets differently. I love them for their beauty, but they also represent so much more. When I see the sun setting, I think and pray to God. Thank You, Lord for this day. It may not have gone the way I had hoped, and I may have some regrets, but I thank You for blessing me to see today. I know some people did not live today, and I thank You for Your grace. If it be Your will, please allow me to see tomorrow. Give me the strength to get up tomorrow, smile, and live intentionally. Give me the strength to go again. Each morning, I make a conscious decision to go again. Yesterday was hard, but today is a new day. I’ll try my hardest, I’ll smile, I’ll work hard, I’ll be helpful, I’ll spread God’s love, and I won’t give up. Not today. Today I go again. If you choose to commit to living intentionally, and if you disregard circumstances and resolve to give each day your best, your life will reap the benefits. Choosing to go again means choosing to keep living life, even when life gets hard like we know it will. Don’t be confused; I’m not saying that giving your best effort every day is easy; putting forth that effort over and over again is not an easy life. But living that way can help you reach your best life, the life that God has for you. I never forget why I do this. I wouldn’t write these posts every week unless I thought they would help somebody. That’s always been the goal: I want to help as many people as God allows me to help. So, every week, I'll do my best to bring relevant material that can hopefully touch a soul or bring some encouragement to someone who is hurting. I know some people are hurting. Maybe you’re hurting, you’ve been hurt for a long time, and you want to give up. Perhaps you’ve been hurt so badly that you don’t want to try again, ever. I’m sorry you feel that way, I really am. Just consider this. God can’t bring you all that He has in store if you don’t trust Him fully. I’m still working on that. I’ve failed before, but with God’s help, I’m willing to give it another shot. Hopefully you can too. It’s not to late to go again. Today, the sun rose and set. It did so yesterday. And, Lord willing, it will tomorrow. So, in fewer than twenty four hours, we will all have a new day to face. I don't know what that day will bring. Don’t wait for tomorrow to decide. Choose today. Choose what? Choose to go again tomorrow. And again, and again, giving your best each and every day. Press on, keep on, keep going, go again. Your life is worth it.
